+====== Recruitment and Onboarding ======

 +The QIRO onboarding process can be loosely broken down into 10 steps between application and completion. Typically, the timeline from application to beginning your training routes will take around **3 weeks**. Most applications come from online job boards, but we welcome applications from friends and family, and in those cases it may be possible to expedite the first onboarding steps.

 +===== Induction =====
 +----
 +After your application is reviewed and accepted you will be contacted by one of our recruitment team who will review the details of the role and gather some basic information before inviting you to an induction session held at our depot in Stoke-on-Trent.
 +
 +The induction date and time will be confirmed with you via SMS and email, along with the information you are required to bring on the day. Please read all information carefully, as failure to do so will delay your onboarding.
 +
 +===== Account Creation =====
 +----
 +At various stages in the onboarding process you will be asked to create accounts with our partners that assist us with your onboarding, training and payment processing. It is vital that you complete all parts of the process in a timely manner if you want to be fully engaged as soon as possible.
 +
 +==== Delivery Application ====
 +
 +You will first be asked to create an account with our delivery contractor, who will ask for information about you for the driving licence check, which ensures that your licence is valid and matches your personal information. Once complete, you will be able to move on to the background check.
 +
 +==== Generate Connect ====
 +
 +Connect are the tax accountants that manage invoicing, payments, VAT and tax returns for our independent contractors, including the driving team. Account creation with Connect allows you to be paid via a no-touch process, and simply receive your invoices ahead of payment each week.
 +
 +==== Accurate Background ====
 +
 +Accurate provide QIRO with background checking services for all applicants, and check for any outstanding convictions and other relevant information that may affect a person's ability to work with high-value cargo or driving a goods vehicle.
 +==== Netradyne ====
 +
 +Netradyne is our telematics provider and is a requirement for all of our driving team. All of our fleet are tracked and monitored for speed, harsh acceleration, braking and cornering, as well as other driving infractions like idling time and seat-belt usage.
 +
 +QIRO makes no efforts to monitor individual drivers and does not check telematics data unless an infraction is raised, but we take safe and legal driving seriously. All instances of illegal or dangerous driving will be reported to the Police.
 +
 +===== Toxicology =====
 +----
 +QIRO reserves the right to ask any and all members of the team to submit to a toxicology (drug and alcohol) test before beginning or continuing to offer work.
 +
 +A toxicology test looks for trace amounts of both illegal and prescription drugs, as well as recent significant alcohol consumption. All team members submitting to a toxicology test are advised to bring documentation for any prescription drugs they are taking and abstain from excessive alcohol consumption prior to the test.
 +
 +Should your toxicology test show undocumented prescription drug or alcohol consumption you will be unable to work until you can pass a subsequent test. In the event illegal drug use is discovered you will be unable to continue working for QIRO.
 +===== Background Check =====
 +----
 +Background checks are completed on behalf of QIRO by Accurate Background. Once your account is created and all required information provided, the background check will commence.
 +
 +The background check can often be the longest part of the process, taking between a day and several weeks depending on your personal circumstances. Incorrect information, criminal convictions, immigration and name changes may lead to delays in processing your background check. QIRO has no influence over how long the background checking process takes and cannot expedite the process.
 +
 +The outcome of a background check is pass/fail and QIRO is unable contest the information provided on your behalf.
 +===== Classroom Training =====
 +----
 +Online classroom training is provided by our partner Disperz. You will receive the date and time of your online training via email and the entire session can be completed at home.
 +===== On-Road Training (Ride Alongs) =====
 +----
 +Once all other steps of your onboarding process are complete, you will be invited to complete your on-road training, also know as **Ride Along** training.
 +
 +The ride along training gets you behind the wheel of one of our commercial vehicles with an experienced member of the team who will guide you through an full day on the road, from inspection to returns. You should prepare for a full day on the road, bring plenty to eat and drink throughout the day!
 +===== Training Routes =====
 +----
 +Nobody expects you to working at the pace of an experienced driver from day one. After your Ride Along routes are completed, you will be allocated **training routes** to help get you up to speed. The size of the routes you complete will gradually increase over time until you're confident and able to begin working on full routes.
